Lipetsk Institute of Cooperation has a rich history and is rightfully proud of it.
It is one of the oldest educational institutions in the Lipetsk region. Thousands of specialists who graduated from LIC during more than 50 years of its existence, have achieved great success in their professional activities. This was made possible thanks to the scientific, educational and upbrininig work of the Institute staff, which is still at the highest level.
This is how it all began …
The Lipetsk Cooperative Technical School was founded on July 10, 1959. The main task of the Technical School was to train qualified specialists with secondary specialized education: commodity experts, accountants, planners. In the first academic year, the college had only full-time studies. The classes were held in small classrooms in the Oblpotrebsoyuz building .The enrollment was 120 people. Later, there appeared a correspondence department.
In 1970 a 4-story building was built with all the necessary audiences and classrooms, a dining room, a library, a reading and sports halls.
In 1971 on the basis of the Cooperative Technical School a Vocational school was founded which trained mass professions personnel: sellers, confectioners, procurers, cooks.
Since 1976 the training of trade organizers began.
In 1977 the hostel was put into operation on the Campus territory (Studgorodok d. 22) for 391 places. All conditions for work and leisure of students were created in the hostel.
In the 1981-82 academic year 650 students studied at the technical school for full-time, 610 students studied in the correspondence department.
In 1991 on the basis of Сooperative Тechnical School and Vocational school the Training and Production Complex "vocational school-technical school" was created. Transition of organizations and enterprises to new forms of management made it necessary to train specialists for working in market economy. That was because Cooperative Technical school began training lawyers, accountants - financiers, businessmen, managers, sellers, procurers.
In 1998, in Moscow at All-Russian Exhibition Center, the Lipetsk Cooperative Technical School was awarded the Medal “VVC Laureate” (certificate No. 1422, resolution of September 22, 1998).
In 1995, the Lipetsk branch of the Belgorod Commercial Academy of Consumer Cooperatives was founded on the initiative of Professor Teplov Vitaliy Ivanovich, Rector of the Belgorod University of Consumer Cooperation and Dvugroshev Dmitry Nikolaevich, Ph.D. in Economics, Chairman of the Council of Lipetsk Regional Consumer Union. The first recruitment was carried out in the specialties: "Commodity research and examination of goods", "Finance and credit" in the part-time form of training; 70% of students were workers and leaders of the consumer cooperation system of the region. In 1996 training began for students in the specialty "Management”; in 1999 training began for students in the specialty "Economics and Management at enterprise”.
September 2, 2002 Lipetsk Cooperative Institute (branch) BUCC was founded on the basis of Board of Centrosoyuz RF resolution of 26.08.2002 №195-P and Rector of Belgorod University of Consumer Cooperation order of 02.09.2002 № 142-K on the bases of Lipetsk branch BUCC and NOU SPO Lipetsk Oblpotrebsoyuz “Cooperative Technical School".
In 2009, the Institute is included in the National Register of the best educational institutions of Russia and entered the top five of the best educational institutions of Lipetsk region.
In 2011, Lipetsk Cooperative Institute (branch) the Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education "Belgorod University of Consumer Cooperation" was renamed for Lipetsk Institute of Cooperation (branch) Autonomous Non-Profit Higher Professional Education Organization “Belgorod University of Cooperation, Economics and Law”.
In 2012, Lipetsk Institute of Cooperation successfully passed the state accreditation procedure for 6 years.
In 2013 and 2014, according to the results of Monitoring the activities of universities and institutes, the Institute was recognized as the effective one and ranks second among the higher educational institutions of the Lipetsk region.
In 2015, Lipetsk Institute of Cooperation (branch) Autonomous Non-Profit Higher Professional Education Organization “Belgorod University of Cooperation, Economics and Law” was renamed as Lipetsk Institute of Cooperation (branch) Autonomous Non-Profit Higher Education Organization “Belgorod University of Cooperation, Economics and Law”.
In 2019, Lipetsk Institute of Cooperation (branch) Autonomous Non-Profit Higher Education Organization “Belgorod University of Cooperation, Economics and Law” successfully passed the state accreditation procedure for a period until January 23, 2025.
